Geocache Description:

First in series of 6 (+1 bonus)

This site, is hard to access since it is neighboured by local businesses, namely a Timber facility on one side, a caravan site on another, the railway on a third, which leaves only the shore onto Loch Eil as the only realistic point of access.

Perhaps, it is because of access difficulties, that this area has largely been allowed to return to a rich mixed woodland habitat for many species.

Long ago it is said to be the place where St. Columba had his first mission station in Pictland and was also the site of a nunnery.  More latterly when the nearby training base of HMS St Christopher was in operation, this area was used to house many US military personnel.
if you look around, you may see the odd bit of foundation and hard standing here and there, but for the most part nature is doing her best to reclaim this area.
There are a few paths used by fishermen and dog walkers, these may or may not be of use navigating between caches.

Warning.
This may look like a nice compact series, however please be aware, much of the series is in dense undergrowth. There are brambles, nettles, and midges. Your feet will NOT reman dry, GPS signal may be poor in some parts, and going will sometimes be very slow. Some of the ground is wet underfoot, and there is the potential to find oneself up to ones waist in stagnant rotting bog. Unless the above sounds like fun, you are advised to give the series a miss. You've been warned. No wingeing in the Logs please.

Note, in case of rain, the CO would rather have an email with a photo than a wet log. The info required to find the bonus is available without opening the cache.
