Skogahagen

Dette er ein frukthage som høyrde til bruket Skogane. Den ligg fint til på kanten av Ulvedalsfjellet. Den var nok i bruk frå slutten av 1800-talet og fram til midten av 1900-talet. Hagen ligg langs ein vertikal fjellvegg som gav mykje god varme for dyrking av frukt. Det er mura opp tilkomstveg for hest, men det var nok uansett kronglete å kome til og frå med utstyr og haust.
Cachen ligg ca 10 meter søraust for den oppmura tilkomstvegen i austre enden av hagen. Du treng ikkje å klatre for å kome til cachen. Ver uansett varsam og gå ikkje for nære kanten på Ulvedalsfjellet utan at du veit kva du gjer.
Skogahagen ligg ved stien langs Ulvedalsfjellet. Om du går heile denne stien får du ei flott utsikt over fjorden og bygdene på andre sida. Det ligg fleire andre geocachar langs denne stien. Om du ynskjer å gå heile stien er det tilrådd å parkere ved den oppgjevne parkeringa for denne cachen, eller parkeringa ved Sagedammen. For heile turen bør ein reikne 1-2 timar. Følg dei raude merka for stien! Stykket mellom cachane "Skogahagen" og "Antonshagen" er litt meir utfordrande enn resten av stien. Denne delen vil nok ha ei terrenggradering på 3.5. Men dette er også den delen av stien som har den finaste utsikta.

This is a fruit garden that belonged to the subfarm "Skogane" at Ulvedal. It's nicely situated on the edge of the Ulvedal cliffs. It was probably in use from the late 1800s until mid 1900s. The garden runs along a vertical rock wall serving as heat insulation providing good conditions for growing fruit. They built an access trail for horses but it must have still been difficult to transport tools and harvest to and from the garden.
The cache is placed about 10 meters southeast of the stone access trail at the eastern end of the garden. You don't need to climb to get to the cache. Be careful though, do not wander too close to the cliffs without knowing what you are doing.
"Skogahagen" is found next to a trail that runs along the edge of the Ulvedal cliffs. If you hike this trail you will get a beautiful view of the fjord and the towns on the other side. There are also several other caches along this trail. If you want to hike the whole trail it is recommended to park at the parking given for this cache, or at the parking area at Sagedammen. Hiking the whole trail and back will take 1-2 hours. Follow the red trail markings! The trail part between "Skogahagen" and "Antonshagen" is a little more demanding than the rest. The terrain rating here is 3.5. This is also the part of the trail with the nicest view.
