The Great Southern Rail Trail, 49 km from Leongatha to Foster. Foster station closed in 1981. Train travel in South Gippsland was taken for granted as kids, special trips to the Melbourne Zoo or Melbourne Show. It was not until riding along the GSRT 40 years later to place these caches that I realised what a spectacular train trip this used to be, overlooking farmland, mountains and Wilson's Prom.
This section of the rail trail is a comfortable bike ride from Fish Creek to Foster. Here you will find another picnic ground and open area to take a rest. The cache is a 400ml sistema, big enough for swaps.
