Geocache Description:

Take Hwy. 12 north from Madison and turn left on Hwy Y. Cross Hwy 78 and park along side the road on Hwy Y by the railroad tracks. The owner of the log home by the tracks said that it was fine to park along the side of the road.

Take a stroll along the abandoned railroad tracks on the scenic, lower Wisconsin River. During your approximately 20 minute hike observe the Redwing Blackbird, the croaking frogs, the pussy willows and cattails; but be careful you are not run over by a stampeding wild turkey or deer. This is a hike that local, Wisconsin author, August Derleth often took for enjoyment and it is often mentioned in his many books.

This cache is a regular rubbermade container with the following items: playing cards, fishing lure, monarch pencil tip, plastic snake, pencil, stickers, golf ball and sand dollar.
