Although this building itself was built c.1860, this spot is the site of the oldest Congregational Church in Canada. The Congregational merged with the Presbyterian and Methodist churches in 1925 to become the United Church of Canada.
At one time, the nearby Town Point was considered as where the town of Yarmouth would be located, but the harbour was better further west. Otherwise, this church would have been the centre of town.
It's in the lower rock wall, but it's not a hard find.
