Geocache Description:

An eco-friendly tribute to Environmental Theme East - An Ironic Juxtaposition.

This is a great alternative route up to a viewpoint overlooking Glencairn Quarry. You will pass some interesting foliage and rock features along the way. Once you have signed the log you can continue round and up to Elsies Peak or retrace your steps to view Fish Hoek from a different vantage point.

I have provided waypoints but the general idea is to park at the end of Mountain Road and follow the path diagonally in a south easterly direction up to the base of the cliffs where you will traverse round and behind rocks. When you arrive at a low stone wall there seems to be path leading down about 4 metres beyond. Do not drop down, but stay on the flat stone ledge and crawl further on and behind some boulders before opening back out onto the path.

When you are at the last waypoint (R4), scramble up two metres onto a ledge and work along it (and over a small dead tree) until you arrive at GZ.

You will find the cache under the same braai grid used in the original 2001 listing. However you will only see the braai grid once you have removed the stone blocking the entrance to the small hollow at your feet.
