Tromsø has many nicknames, "Gateway to the Arctic Ocean" and "Arctic Capital Tromsø" are names that are established names in the city. Arctic hunting was from the 1860s and onwards one of the activities that stood out most strongly in Tromsø.
Throughout the years, the city has been the starting point for many significant expeditions, which has made its mark in Tromsø. On this tour through the town you will stop by places that in various ways marks the events or people related to the term Arctic Capitol.
