Many people do not know the important role Philip Schuyler played in history. Some know him simply as a pillar of early Albany politics. He was Major General of the Northern Army under George Washington and played an important role in strategic planning during the Revolutionary War. He was replaced just prior to the Battle of Saratoga by General Horatio Gates. There is much more to learn about this unique individual, however. If you search a little harder, you will discover all sorts of fascinating hidden secrets and family history. We invite you to read the exterior signage on the grounds, view the Visitor Center exhibit, and for a small fee, take a tour of the mansion. While the site does not need to be open for you to reach the cache, we highly recommend you stop during daylight and operating hours.
Hint: Five clues have already been given.
