Geocache Description:

You are on your way to finding the last outhouse in Golden, BC

Built for the first Doctor that came to Golden, BC this lovely little home was built in 1893 and is the only building in Golden protected by a Bylaw. Dr. Taylor was a young man when he came to Golden and only needed a small residence but soon he found a lovely young woman to be his wife and their family started to grow - a bigger house was necessary. Dr. Taylor sold the property to Arthur Wixon in 1912 as a wedding present to his wife, and it stayed in the family, passing to his daughter Ruth. When Ruth passed away in 2007 she left this wonderful little property to the Town of Golden. Today her gardens grow crops for the local food bank which volunteers loving care for and harvest. Permission has been obtained for the cache to be located here but please don't pick the flowers or vegetables. This is a heritage location. There are alarm warning signs up on the property but have no fear the alarm will not be triggered unless you try to enter the main house.
