Dieser cache befindet sich auf dem Gelände des früheren Schlosses in Guteborn. Das Dorf wurde erstmals 1349 urkundlich erwähnt und der Name rührt von einer Quelle her (der "gute Born") welche sich in den Parkanlagen befindet. Das Schloss zu Guteborn entstand im 16. Jahrhundert und zur Anlage gehörten nicht nur die Häuser der Bediensteten und mehrere administrative Gebäude, sondern auch der Schlossteich und der Schlosspark. Was viele bestimmt nicht wissen: dies ist ein bedeutender historischer Ort, besonders für die Geschichte der Sachsen. Hier dankte am 13. November 1918 Friedrich August III ab. "Na, dann macht doch Euren Dreck alleine!" soll er damals gesagt haben. Der letzte Schlossher war Prinz Ulrich von Schönburg-Waldenburg. Er starb 1944 und die Prinzenfamilie wurde 1945 gezwungen das Schloss zu verlassen. Am 8. August 1948 wurde es dann gesprengt und nur Teile des Schlosskomplexes sowie die Kapelle blieben erhalten. Diese wurde 1997 restauriert und wird nun von der Gemeinde genutzt.
Dieser traditionelle cache bringt euch vorbei am Schlosspark und dem Schlossteich zur ehemaligen Schlossanlage und zur Kapelle. Wer mit dem Auto unterwegs ist parkt am besten auf dem Platz vor dem Schlossteich. Ein kurzer Spaziergang durch den Park führt euch zum cache. Dieser enthält ein logbuch + Stift, hat aber nur wenig Platz für TBs oder Tauschobjekte. Die Gegend ist zumeist sehr ruhig, ihr könnt euch also ungestört auf die Suche begeben. Bitte zeigt jedoch Respekt im dem Fall das gerade eine Zeremonie in der Kapelle stattfindet.

This cache is on the site of the former castle Guteborn. The village was first mentioned already in 1349 and traces its name to the well/source that lies close to the castle grounds. The castle can be traced back to the mid 16th century, and the complex included many administrative buildings, servants buildings as well as features such as the pond and park. The castle played an important part in Saxonian history as it housed the last king of Saxony, Friedrich August III, during the revolution until he abdicated his throne on the 13th of November 1918 on this very spot. The last master of castle Guteborn was Prinz Ulrich von Schönburg - Waldenburg, who died in 1944. The family was forced to leave in 1945, and it was subsequently demolished on the 8th of August 1948. Parts of the castle complex is preserved, including the pond and the chapel which was reconstructed in 1997 and is in use by the community.
The cache is a simple drive-through traditional, which brings you to the main part of the castle complex via the banks of the pond. There is a convenient parking place close to the site, and the cache itself is only a few minutes walk from the parking. The cache contains a logbook and pencil, but there is very limited space for trade items. The area is usually very quiet, but please be discrete and show respect if there is a ceremony in the chapel.
