Geocache Description:

This cache is part of an extension to Sadexploration’s immensely far–reaching Church Micro series.

Church Micro 3660 – St Peter's, Ditton

St Peter's is a lovely small Medieval community church, in the village of Ditton, Kent. It was built  in the twelth century, with the tower being added in the fourteenth century. The church was restored in 1859 by Sir George Gilbert Scott which has given the building a distinctive 'cleaned out' feeling inside. The north nave window have fragments of fourteenth century glass, including two very stilted angels swinging censers. The nave has a good selection of hanging wall monuments and a very elegant benefactions board. An unusual sight is the lead plaque on the nave wall that was removed from the tower roof in 1859. It has a picture of a ship of Nelson's time scratched on it - a very crude representation at that - and is probably not by a seaman returned home as local legend asserts. The good east window of 1910 is by C.E. Kempe and Co. Ltd.

This is a quick multi cache, with two locations to visit, before you reach the end cache.

The starting coordinates are for a bench on the church green. There is on-road parking available alongside this point.

The second location coordinates are for the church noticeboard, at the front of the church.

You will need to visit both locations to collect the required digits to complete the final cache location as follows....

Final cache location = N51 17.ACB     E000 27.D(E-B)B

Visit the bench for digits B and D:

"Sit here and take time to enjoy Ditton ... April 20BD"

Visit the church noticeboard for digits A, C and E:

A = the hour in the time for Holy Communion on the 1st Sunday.
C = the Rector's house number.
E = the hour in the time for Evening Worship.

You are looking for a micro cache at the final location. Please DO NOT attempt to drive to GZ - it is inaccessible by car and only a few minutes walk away from the church. . You will need to bring along your own pen, as the cache is only big enough for the log. Tweezers will be useful too. Please be careful with geokids and dogs as there is water nearby.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.

If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list
