Welcome to the southern portion of Pasco Palms Preserve, a previously neglected and abused stretch of coastal tidal flats along Baileys Bluff Road. This area has long been used as a dumping grounds for anything from yard waste and old household appliances to worn out car and truck tires. Since being acquired by Pasco County in March 2009 the planning and cleanup has been ongoing.
The closest parking for this hide is roadside near the culvert in the road that connects Sawyers Basin to Fillmans Creek (see waypoint). You can enter the flats approximately .10 miles south of there at N28 13.042 W082 45.346. It is a relatively easy walk to the cache, however high tides and rains may tend to lengthen the hike as you detour around any standing water. Slight bushwacking may be necessary as you near ground zero, BYOP. Any CITO would be greatly appreciated.
Permission to place this cache given by Pasco Environmental Lands Division.
