In deze Zeeuwse monumentenstad is sinds 2008 een BurgGolf baan te vinden. BurgGolf Middelburg heeft een prachtige 9 holes baan en een uitdagende par-3 baan, beide ontworpen door golfarchitect Bruno Steensels. De par-3 baan is ook te bespelen voor golfers zonder GVB.
Daarnaast beschikt BurgGolf Middelburg over een driving range en een putting green waar u in een rustige omgeving kunt oefenen.

In dit verhaal nemen we aan dat de golfer in kwestie geen handicap heeft. Daarnaast neemt hij altijd de afslag van de langste lengte.
Het verhaal
In dit verhaal volgen we Eagle Birdie, een begenadigd Golfspeler die al menig toernooi op zijn naam heeft weten te zetten. Maar hij is ook bekend van zijn woede uitbarstingen als het eens een keertje niet goed gaat.
Vandaag is hij uitgenodigd bij BurgGolf in Middelburg om de baan te promoten. Hoewel dit ver van zijn woonplaats is, is hij toch op deze uitnodiging in gegaan.
Bij het ontwaken heeft hij er eigenlijk al spijt van. Zijn hoofd voelt niet prettig aan, mogelijk door het gezellige feestje van de vorige avond. Maar het is afgesproken, dus kruipt hij rustig uit bed. Als hij de gordijnen van zijn appartement opendoet, ziet hij tot zijn ongenoegen dat het weer typisch hollands is.
Op weg naar Middelburg komt hij bij de tunnel in de file te staan. Een of andere weggebruiker was bang om het donkere gat in te duiken (hoewel tegenwoordig goed verlicht) en had hard op de rem getrapt, wat een kettingbotsing tot gevolg had. Het duurde enige tijd voordat hij weer door kon rijden.
Aangekomen op de plek van bestemming, bleek het flink te waaien. Iets waar hij niet echt goed tegen kan. Je kunt wel begrijpen dat zijn humeur niet al te best is, en dan moet hij nog beginnen.
De eerste hole is een lange baan met veel water aan de linkerkant. Aangezien de wind dwars op de baan stond richting het water, moet hij veel meer naar rechts slaan. Hij legt rustig aan en net op het moment dat hij wil slaan, valt de wind geheel weg. De bal wijkt veel te ver uit naar rechts en komt in de rough. Dat helpt niet echt met zijn stemming. UIteindelijk weet hij deze baan met een bogey te volbrengen.
De tweede hole lijkt iets beter te gaan. Maar hij weet de kleine bunker achter de green te bereiken. Ook hier haalt hij er niet meer uit dan een bogey en daalt zijn stemming naar het nulpunt.
Bij Hole 3 lijkt het geluk hem toe te lachen en komt hij net over de grote bunker vlak voor de green. Alleen bekijkt hij de green niet goed en mag hij blij zijn dat hij deze hole in een par haalt.
Op zowel hole 4 als hole 5 lukt het hem niet op zijn vorm te herpakken en scoort hij achtervolgens een par en een bogey
Omdat het een negen-holes baan is, weet hij dat hij vanaf hole 6 alleen maar onder par moet blijven om de hele baan af te sluiten op par. Dat wordt nog een lastige klus en daarom haalt hij dan ook zijn geluksbal te voorschijn. Met deze bal heeft hij al menig toernooi van verlies omgedraaid naar winst en ook nu verwacht hij er heel veel van.
Hij kust zijn bal en legt hem teder op de tee. Heel rustig maakt hij zich klaar om af te slaan. Dit gaat prima en de bal komt mooi op de fairway terecht.
Maar het geluk duurt niet lang. Net op het moment dat hij de volgende slag wil maken, zoemt er een grote bij rond zijn hoofd. De beweging is al ingezet en het is te laat om nog te stoppen. Zoals verwacht krijgt de bal een rare draai en vliegt weg. Door de bij die nog rond zijn hoofd rondvliegt, ziet Eagle niet waar zijn bal heen vliegt.
Hij is woedend. Hij haalt het nu nooit meer en tot overmaat van ramp is hij zijn bal ook nog kwijt. Omdat het zijn geluks bal is, blijft hij tot laat in de avond doorzoeken en er zijn een aantal vrijwilligers die hem daar bij assisteren. Maar het mag helaas niet baten. Zijn geluksbal blijft weg.
De opdracht
Help Eagle Birdie zijn bal terug te vinden.
Het eerste wat moet gebeuren, is de coordinaten vinden van waar hij de bal geraakt heeft.
Daarna moet je een projectie maken om de coordinaten te vinden waar de bal terecht is gekomen.
Daarvoor heb je wat gegevens nodig.

- Het laatste cijfer van het jaartal waarin BurgGolf in Middelburg begonnen is (B)

- De lengte van Hole 4 (E)
- De lengte van Hole 3 (F)
- Hoeveel slagen onder par is een Eagle (G)

Voor de projectie:

De cache
Het is niet toegestaan om het golf terrein te betreden om deze te vinden. Dit is ook niet nodig. De cache ligt buiten het terrein
Wees aub voorzichtig met de behuizing en plaats hem weer op dezelfde locatie terug als gevonden.
Een pincet kan handig zijn.

The story

Towards Middelburg he comes to stand with his car due to an accident. It took some time before he could continue to proceed his journey.
Arriving at the place of destination, it turned out to be quite a wind blowing. Something he can not stand really good. You can understand his mood is not too good, and then he still needs to start.
The first hole is a long one with a lot of water to the left. As the wind across the runway was towards the water, he hit a lot more to the right. He is quiet relaxed and just when he wants to hit the ball, the wind falls away completely. The shot was tipped too far to the right, in the rough. That does not help his mood. The second hole seems to go better. But he unfortunatly he reaches the small bunker behind the green Again he gets no more than a bogey and his mood drops to zero.
In Hole 3 seems luck to laugh at him and he is just misses the big bunker in front of the green. Only he does not look at the green well and he is lucky that he gets this hole in par.
Both hole and 4 hole 5 do not manage to get him in shape and he scores a par and a bogey
Because it is a nine-hole course, he knows that he must continue to stay under from hole 6 onwards to score a par overall. That is a tough job and therefore he reach for his lucky ball. With this ball, he has reverersed many lost tournaments to profit and now he expects to reach the same.
He kisses his ball and puts him tenderly on the tee. Very quietly he is ready to turn down. This is fine and the ball comes nicely on the fairway.
But the happiness does not last long. Just when he wants to make the next stroke a bee is buzzing around his head. The movement has already started and it is too late to stop. As expected the ball gets a strange turn and flies away. Because the bee still flies around his head, Eagle does not see where his ball ends up.
He is furious. He knows he is never getting to make it a par and to make matters worse he lost his favorite ball.
Because it is his lucky ball, he stays up late searching in the evening and there are a number of volunteers who assist at him. But it may not help unfortunately. His lucky ball is not found.

Help Birdie Eagle to find back his lucky ball.
The first thing to do, is to find the coordinates from where he has hit the ball.
