Your nose will tell you when you are getting close to this wonderful park located in Rotorua. It is flush with steaming, bubbling pools that adds to the whole geocacheing experience. Parking is not a problem and you can approach the park from a number of directions. It is located in a safe place so you will not have to contend with the steaming pool of odiferous water. Happy hunting!
The cache is a small aluminum tube which easily unscrews in the center to reveal the rolled up log. Be sure to have your pencil handy as there is no room for anything else in the cache. Please be careful to not lose or damage the O-ring on the tube so it will remain waterproof. This location should be relatively free of muggle eyes as it is a bit off the trail to give you a little bit of cover, but not too close to any bubbling water to keep it a safe experience. This cache is to replace my old cache which was fairly close to this location, but has disappeared. That is unfortunate as it had over 95 confirmed finds and several favorite stars to its credit. This cache will be a bit more challenging as it is camo'ed well and you will have to observe the entire area carefully. The "Village" series is based around an old 1960's TV serial titled, "The Prisoner" which actually took place in a small, mysterious Village located in Wales. Retired spies were sent to this Village to be debriefed and detained so they wouldn't use the information they had gathered as spies. It is a bit of a quirky series, but interesting and keeps you guessing as to the real plot. Most of these "Village" caches are located just outside of Reno, Nevada so if you have a hankering for more, you might just have to come over and search for them. Happy hunting!
