This is the first trail that Rotherham Explorer Scouts have placed. The coordinates may be different on your device due to the woods being in a big dip. Enjoy the walk through Brecks Woods and the geocaches hidden by Typhoon Explorer Scouts. Our pot of treasure at the end contains badges and other items- please only take a badge if you are swapping it with another one.
Please take a while to read the information sign before you start your trail and learn a little about the woods you will be walking through. The geocaches are small snap lid tupperware boxes. The paths can be muddy when wet, so I would advise strong walking shoes or boots. There's some steep steps between cache 3 and 4 and I'd allow 90mins to 2hrs to complete the trail. After you have found the second cache look out for the Redwood trees on your left, something unusual in Rotherham. At the final cache you will find a larger container with a screw lid- this contains some badges. Badge collecting is a popular pass time with scouters, please only take a badge if you are replacing it with another, hopefully there will be other items left for others to swap. After locating the final cache I suggest you head away from the road and follow the path back to where you started, if you do you will find the oldest oak tree in the woods- you can't miss it, there's a signpost telling you exactly where to look.
