There are 50 geocaches hidden within 16 state parks and state historic sites in the Saratoga/Capital District region, and geocachers finding them all will be eligible to enter their names in a drawing for valuable prizes. As one of the most popular parts of Saratoga Spa State Park, the Vale of Springs continually offers visitors a look back into the history of the springs. The Centennial Project recognized the 100th anniversary of the preservation of the mineral springs and served to beautify and restore the Vale of Springs. The project includes landscaping, new accessible pathways, a stairway, an overlook at the Geyser waterfall, and interpretive signs. Thanks to the Centennial Project, this space continues to be improved every year to ensure visitors an enjoyable experience for years to come. When taking the lower trail make your way past the tufa, an area where mineral deposits from the spring water collect, but step lightly. You never know what you might find under your feet.
