This Series of caches will follow the former track bed of the G.R. G.H. & M. Electric railway with stops at former depots and other remnants of this great part of West Michigan history.
Titusville
Titusville was a Flag Stop. Flag Stops were designated locations were passengers could flag down the interurban. Flag stops are sort of like bus stops for the interurban. Generally at Flag stops there was either an Outhouse sized shack or a small wooden pavilion. Here is a picture of your typical flag stop: LINK If no one was there to flag the cars down they would pass by the stop. Titusville's stop was situated on L. Titus's land. In its heyday Titusville had a small collection of houses. The settlement never established a Post office.

The Cache is a micro test strip container. Located on Country road right of way.

Town: Titusville
Population: Depends on home many people live in the house near the cache [:)]
Reason for decline: Ending of the Interurban spelled the ending of this town.
History: Titusville was a small hamlet located west of Berlin Station (now Marne). It was first settled in 1918. It had a Flag Stop on the G.R. G.H. & M. Interurban RW. When it came to the Grand Trunk Western Railroad, Titusville was bypassed like all of the small towns between Marne & Coopersville.
Notes: Titusville is not compleatly forgoten! There is a small wooden sign reminding people they are in Titusville

AS ALWAYS....
ENJOY!
