Grandpa Nick
Grandpa Nick was my dad's dad. He was born in Norway in 1911, and came to the United States around the age of 15, with his older brother. They entered the US through Ellis Island.
Grandpa Nick eventually found his way to the west coast and settled in Seattle. He worked in the seafood industry as a laboror, a supervisor, a manager, and as an inspector. When I was in highschool, he took me with him to Alaska... and while he consulted, and oversaw quality of fresh frozen Salmon in a Kenai processing plant, I spent my summers working on the gut line. :-)
He had 2 sons and 5 grandchildren. We lost Grandpa Nick in 1996 at the age of 85.
