Welcome to the Speldhurst Stroll. Although this walk starts and ends in Langton Green, it’s in the parish of Speldhurst and does cross over Speldhurst. This is the first loop we have ever put out as we usually only put out individual caches but we thought that this was such a lovely walk on our doorstep that we wanted to share it with fellow cachers.
The walk is just under 4.5 miles long and contains 21 caches. Cache 5 is a tree climb which probably doesn’t need ropes for but miss this one out if you are not a keen tree climber.
There are various cache containers on this walk from nano, micro, vials, tubes and 3 larger containers for swaps of swag and TB's and geocoins, some are very challenging and time consuming.
The attributes are for each individual cache and not the whole loop itself, so some are bike and stroller accessible and some are not.
The walk goes through fields and woods and contains two sections of (generally quiet) lane walking so children and dogs would need to be kept close by.
Car parking coordinates (see waypoint) are for the car park of the Langton Green Recreation Ground which can get busy at the weekends during the football and cricket seasons. This can be a very muddy walk during autumn to spring so wellies or walking boots are a must.
There is a cache on this loop (after number 13) which can be done by a slight detour GC1KVDE (Tunbridge Wells Walk 1 - #5 The Field).
The coordinates will take you to a stone where you will find two sets of numbers. These numbers will help you calculate the cache coordinates.
ABCD – EFGH
Cache can be found at N51 08.(A+D) (E-A) (G) E0 12.(D) (F-H+E) (B-A)
Once you have worked the coordinates out, follow the footpath so that you have the basketball court on your right, go around the field and head towards the stile.
