Geocache Description:

MAP OF WALK

Keeping you on track

This is the second of my circular walk series in East Kent, designed to encourage more people to use public rights of way. Please do not stray from these or trespass on farmer’s land. Ensure that dogs are kept on leads when passing through fields containing livestock.Take great care to keep dogs well away from cows with young calves. At the time of setting up this walk we encountered sheep in the first field and young cattle at Roods Meadow. They took no notice of us.

This is different from my Reinden Walk series.  It is a treasure hunt set over a circular walk of approximately 2.2 miles, in the vicinity of Paddlesworth and Hawkinge. Although the terrain is relatively flat, there are a lot of stiles to climb and one of them is very steep and awkward.  Several stiles have dog access. Some paths can get muddy and slippery when wet, especially where they cross newly ploughed fields. Make sure that you wear appropriate footwear.

I have set the walk to start from the suggested parking area, just off the roadside, and ask you not to block the field entrance because it is in regular use. The lanes in this area are single track. The co-ordinates changed every time we visited. We think it may get worse in some areas when the trees are in full leaf. Hence the maps to help you.

All caches are 35mm film pots. They are hidden near styles and waypoints to ensure that you keep on track. They all contain a log sheet for signing. All but one contain a random task or clue. If you are planing to find Bonus cache 12, you will need a pen and paper to write down the answers. Please remember to leave the clues in the containers for others to find. You should discover the co-ordinates for a trail head, plus the co-ordinates for a very nice bonus cache hidden somewhere on a footpath.

This is a military area and it is forbidden to stray off the public path.
