Park at the Mine Kill Falls parking lot, which is roughly ¼ mile south of the main park entrance on Route 30.  Enjoy the coolness of a mixed white pine and cedar forest.  Be careful where you step as baby pine trees are abundant.  Many of the cedar stumps have tiny saplings growing out of them.

Save time to see the locally famous Mine Kill Falls.  These falls formed after the glacier receded around 10,000 years ago.  The two upper falls were created in a very unique way.  As the glacial waters were forming rivers and creeks a faulting event happened.  The fault cut through the river, over time the water eroded the sediment underneath forming the falls that are seen today.  This is a great spot to take your camera and get some wonderful shots!  Follow the Long Path to the bottom of the falls – about a 10 minute hike down.

Mine Kill State Park is open during the summer months from 7:30am to 8pm and 7:30am to 4pm the rest of the year.  There is a $3 entry fee into the park during the summer months.  Parking at the Mine Kill Falls parking area is always free.  You can reach the park office at 518-827-6111 for more information.
