Take a walk along the Saddle Road and discover yourself again.
The Saddle Road has always been a special place for me. It is a place of peace where you can escape the hustle and noise of Hilo and feel one with nature and your self.
Here one can feel a sense of loneliness, as they walk among the lava rock and ohia trees. Nature has a way of making man look small in comparison to the world. The native birds and distance kipukas call you to become one.
The cache is located along this ohia trail that runs parallel to the main road, just pass the 22 mile marker. Parking can be found along the wide shoulders. A quick walk through the rocks will take you to the trial. Depending on the weather, the views can be wonderful or ominous. At the time of placement an eerie fog was blanketing the area, yet within 10 minutes, the sun was peeking through and the birds sang it's welcome.
Enjoy the area and replace the cache as found. thank the gods for bringing you here to marvel in their glory. Practice CITO when possible to keep this area clean. PLEASE NO SPOILERS! Come become Hawaii again.
