Geocache Description:

Alton Barnes, Wiltshire, UK. The cache is located above a white horse hill carving so some uphill walking is involved. Walking shoes or boots are a good idea, particularly in inclement weather

A bit of an uphill gradient but the going is fairly easy and not too long. You will be rewarded by breath taking views, particularly if you approach from the South. Once the climb is over the cache is relatively easy to find as the terrain is quite bare.

Look out to the southward and spot the Barge Inn, on the banks of the Kennet and Avon canal. An ideal place to retreat to after the walk and gaze back up at the White Horse hill carving just below the scene of your latest geocaching triumph.
