This cache was placed to celebrate the 500th anniversary of exploration & history in Florida on June 8th & 9th.

You are looking for a cammo screw top container.

Raccoons

Raccoons are among the most frequently seen animals in Florida’s state parks. They can be recognized by a black mask over the eyes and a bushy tail with alternating black and yellowish white rings. Raccoons frequently forage for food at night near streams and lakes where there are wooded areas nearby. The raccoon diet includes fruits, nuts, grains, insects, frogs, crayfish, and bird eggs. They will eat just about anything, however, and can be found roaming around campsites if food is left out. Raccoons use hollow trees, logs, and natural brush piles to rest during the day. Please do not feed the raccoons. Raccoons and other mammals abandon their natural foods and change their feeding patterns when provided with “hand-outs”. The feeding of raccoons also may result in a painful bite. Furthermore, raccoons are known to carry rabies and other diseases that can be transmitted through bites. Enjoy these curious and amusing creatures, but respect them as wild animals.
