This is traditional cache located in the city centre of Gura Humorului, right in front of West Bestern Hotel.
Gura Humorului is a small city located in a historical region of Romania called Bucovina. The city became a resort in 2005 and it has a population of 13,000 inhabitans. Being small you can go around by foot. The town is situated at the eastern limit of Obicinele Bucovinei mountains, in Humorului Depression, at the confluence of Moldova River and Humor River. The average altitude of the town is 470 meters.
The main reason to come here is to visit the two painted monasteries nearby: Voronet Monastery - known for its striking blue color and the depiction of Heaven and Hell - and Humor Monastery (Manastirea Humorului) is not as well preserved as Voronet, but it has an impressive guard tower which gives you a nice view.
The name comes from Humor River and it means “fast.” It happened around 1200 year when a Tatar invasion came over the city and was not able to pass the river: the water stream was too fast (“homor” in Tatar).
Please be stealth when retrieving the cache, the area is very populated! No pen, only a logbook and a few trinkets.
