Geocache Description:

Given coordinates are for parking. If you can’t get parked at the layby continue round the bend to the next layby – you can enter the grounds by either gate.

Once you’ve located the cache itself feel free to have a wander around the old Castle ruins or walk up towards the new castle and follow the trail up to the Chinese ponds (or lakes as they've called them), it is a favorite Sunday walk for the two gremlins when we have them over. It can be exceptionally muddy underfoot at times so appropriate footwear is needed. On a very very odd occasion, there may be horses walking the main paths. Please do not go into the grounds of Castle Toward (new castle) because this is now privately owned. In the summer months there can be a lot of ferns (but if you come just before fern time the grounds are full of bluebells - gorgeous) and as Redferryman has pointed out there can also be a lot of nettles.

You open your eyes, blinking out the early morning sun, yawn and stretch pulling yourself into an upright position. What a glorious day it looks outside and you’ve got nothing planned. Maybe you could do a spot of gardening or paint the fence. The telephone rings:

You: Hello
Caller: Hi Myka here. What you up to today?
You: Oh hi Myka, nothing much, bit of lazy day really.
Myka: So you’ve got some time on your hands then?
You: Well I could have, why?
Myka: Me and Pete were just wondering if you’d like to help us out with a little problem we have.
You: What’s that?
Myka: We have a slight transport problem here in South Dakota at the moment and need some help to find an artifact which Artie believes has been hidden near old Castle Toward.
You: And you want me to go and find it for you?
Myka: Yes, but that’s all, whatever you do don’t touch the actual artifact which is more than likely hidden in a container of some kind.
You: And what is this artifact that I’d be looking for?
Myka: A Pair of glasses in a case.
You: Ok no problem. Are these glasses dangerous?
Myka: Not if don’t put them on.
You: And if I do?
Myka: Well let’s just say when Pete put them on Artie seemingly turned into a wobbly big tusked walrus.
You: Ok sounds like a bit of fun I’ll help but I won’t put the specks on.
Myka: Good, I’ll send you a code for the location. Claudia has gone out on another mission with Steve so she hasn’t had a chance to decipher it yet so you’ll have to work it out first.
You: That’s ok text it to me.

You replace the phone and 2 seconds later your mobile beeps indicating a received text.
