Although the history of Nagymágocs dates back to the 15th century (1426), the village has still less than 4000 inhabitants. The place is famous for its spectacular castle, which was erected in the end of the 19th century (1896-1897) by István Károlyi, who was an earl in the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy. In the garden visitors may see a number of rare, exotic plants, as well as trees older than 100 years and a lake where you may fishing or boating.
However the building itself serves as a care home for disabled people after the second World War, some of its parts (as the main stairs, the chapel and the knight's hall) may still be woth for visiting.
Dear Geocachers! Since this cache is different from the earlier one (listed only on geocaching.hu), please log "found it" only if you have found it after 11/17/2012. Earlier "found it" logs will be deleted! If you visited this cache earlier please log a "write note". Thank you for your cooperation!
Kedves Ládászok! Mivel ez a láda jelentősen eltér a korábbi (csak .hu-n szereplő) azonos nevű ládától, kérlek benneteket, hogy csak akkor logoljatok "found it" azaz "megtaláltam"-ot, ha a találat 2012.11.17 után történt. A korábbi találatokra kérem, hogy a "write note"-ot használjátok. A visszamenőleg beírt "found it" azaz "megtaláltam" log-ok törlésre kerülnek! Köszönöm szépen a megértést.
