Geocache Description:

"And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will ever hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me
And when I looked the Moon had turned to gold

Blue moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own"--from "Blue Moon"

This cache is the 10th in an 11-cache walking series placed over a 1.1 mile stretch located between Blue Course Drive and the Penn State Blue Golf Course.  The series is designed to be family friendly with easy to find hides placed near an established path or paved walk.  Each cache is named after a song with the word "blue" in it.  If you happen to be feeling blue, may the walk lift your spirits.

Much of the path goes through gentle woods of maple and oak trees but some sections are in full sun (when the sun shines).   From parts of the path you can see Mount Nittany.

Most of the caches have logs that are micros set within small or medium containers for waterproofing and easier finding. I've listed most of the sizes as micros since most don't have room for trade items. Please take your own pen or pencil. The hint below is a giveaway.

"Blue Moon" is a classic popular song was written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart in 1934. It has been recorded by  Billie Holiday, Mel Torme, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, and Frank Sinatra among others. The song has been featured in musical films such as Grease.

The lyrics presumably refer  to the expression  "once in a blue moon" meaning  "very rarely".  The song  tells of luck so unlikely that it must have taken place under a blue moon. The title relies on a play on words, since blue is also the color of melancholy, and indeed the narrator is sad and lonely until he finds love.

The" Blue Moon"  cache is a camouflaged micro placed in a small container on a little rise on the hill under a rock at the back base of a bush/small tree. In the summer of 2015, the tree is entwined by a vine. You do not need to search the rock piles in the nearby drainage area. The cache is right behind the trunk of a rather obvious little tree/ bush where the grass meets the rocky area. So that no one feels "blue" in not finding it, I have tied yellow ribbons around the tree and the rocks above the hide. Look at the base of the little tree/bush in the back.

Enjoy your walk.

(Though my husband, JBT, knows nothing about this cache, I have asked him to be disqualified from the FTF lest anyone think he had advance knowledge.)

Congratulations to Stevensons a Searchin, mattressgnome and RICK+REESII Dog for the FTF!
