During the course of the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August a group of cachers from the far flung corners of Devon and Cornwall will be making a North to South crossing of Dartmoor in the memory of fellow cacher Tim Hampson who sadly passed away at Easter during a visit to Devon. Tim, who cached under the name of Keehotee, was known and well liked by those that have met him; he is survived by his widow Ali and his son Fred.
The walk is from Sourton to Ivybridge with an overnight stay in Princetown, with the main walking group welcoming anyone who wishes to join them for sections of the walk; route details and timings of which will be confirmed in the next week or so. Some of the team will be camping on the site behind the Plume of Feathers from Friday evening onwards and those like minded souls are most welcome to come and join us. Please note this is a tent only site and you cannot drive your vehicles onto the field. They do allow a number of campervans in the car park. Toilets and showers are available but there are NO electrical hook-ups.
The main event will be hosted at the Prince of Wales, familiar to those who have attended recent Stop the Clocks events, and will begin at 7pm; however the landlord has said, as with previous events at this excellent venue, that anyone who wishes to come in and eat earlier are welcome from 5.30pm onwarrds. If you wish to eat please remember to put this in your log with the number of cachers in your team and how many are eating. If you are not eating then please also log this. These details are important for the landlord as he likes to order the food in fresh.
We will, naturally, raise a glass in memory of Tim during the course of the evening .

Friday evening - at sunset we will walk out to South Hessary Tor to light candles in memory of Tim.
Saturday morning - walk departs Sourton
Saturday afternoon - we hopefully arrive in Princetown!
Saturday evening - Trekking for Tim event at the Prince of Wales
Sunday morning - depart Princetown
Sunday afternoon - walk finishes in Ivybridge.
