The Battle of Village Creek
In the early days, Native Americans -- including Caddos, Cherokees, and Tonkawas -- lived, hunted and fished along Village Creek near the present site of Kennedale. On May 24,1841, the Battle of Village Creek was fought, resulting in the slaughter and wounding of numerous Indians and eventually leading to Bird's Fort Treaty in 1843 between the Village Creek tribes and the Republic of Texas, which forced the Indians to a reservation on the upper Brazos River and opened the region to settlement.
The first cache of this series is located on city property just south of Village Creek. You are looking for a small container with a log book and part of the information you will need to find the final cache of this series -- K.C. #4: Brick Yard Bonus -- a large bonus cache with plenty of room for swag. You will also need information from K.C. #2: Roots of a Town and K.C. #3: Fort Worth & New Orleans to find the bonus and complete the Kennedale Cache series.
Your best parking options are a short walk southeast at some of the nearby businesses on Kennedale Parkway (Business 287). Don't park directly across the street, though, or you might get towed. Kennedale is a mecca for auto scrap yards, and there's no telling where your car might wind up!
Congratulations to TX wino

(And for finding it on the 172nd anniversary of the Battle of Village Creek!)
