Lucy's Bunker Traditional Cache
syntegra: I am sadly going to archive this cache as it has been vandalised. There are now many young people gathering in the area of the bunker and they obviously can think of nothing better to do than spoil the enjoyment of others. I will put out a new cache in due course but in a less vulnerable position.
Thanks to everyone who has commented favourably on 'Lucy's Bunker'. Lucy ~ my granddaughter ~ will be very disappointed.

A cache and dash to a site of some historical interest, with excellent views of Salisbury nearby..
This cache is very close to a former Cold War underground site built to house the Salisbury Urban District Council. The bunker contained a decontamination room, control room, communications room, dormitory and kitchen, and had a standby generator and an escape shaft.
Although the original reason for building this bunker has now long since been overtaken by events with the end of the Cold War, it is believed that the local Council still use it for storage.
If you are interested in more information about this site, and about other Cold War sites, please visit the website Subterranean Brittanica.
While you have parked up to do this cache, why not go up to the Bishop’s Walk for some stunning views of Salisbury Cathedral and the city, and do GCVYGK – A Glimpse of the 404 Feet’ along the way?
