Dit bastion dankt zijn naam "Katten", aan de "Kat" ook wel schietkat genoemd. De Kat is een een vrijstaande, boven de wal uitstekende opstelplaats voor geschut. Katten werden aangelegd om de buitenwerken van een vestingstad te kunnen dekken. Dit was dus een onderdeel van de verdediging van de vestingstad.
Dit bastion is een van de kleinere bastions van de vesting, maar ondanks de kleinere afmeting was het erg belangrijk voor de verdegiging van de stad vanwege de locatie en nabijheid van de voormalige Zuiderzee.
Om de cache te vinden is het niet nodig om te graven of begroeiing aan de kant te zoeken.

Let op: De vesting en de vesting wallen zijn erg populair bij wandelaars en bewoners die de hond uit laten. Let dus op muggles!

This cache is located at the Bastion Katten in Naarden Vesting.
The bastion Katten in Naarden Vesting got its name from the "Kat" that was placed there in ancient times as part of the defence of the city.
The Kat does not refer to an animal (cat), but instead to an earthen mount that was placed inside the bastion to allow the atillery to fire from a higher location and thereby gain a further range.
This bastion is one of the smaller bastions in the vesting. Despite its smaller size it was very important for the defence of the city because of its location and proximity to the former Zuiderzee.
