Geocache Description:

While looking for nearby caches, I saw the Evil Queen searching for Snow White (GC3CPVC) to give her poisoned blueberries (the apple didn't work and we are in NH...).  I managed to steal her magic wand and hide it before her henchman grabbed me.  They promised to let me go, if I would tell them how to find it.  The henchmen didn't seem too bright, and I didn't want to make it easy for them. So I devised some clues to give you a chance to find it first.

Sorry, you CAN'T bring your dog on some stages of this multi, and you can't do every stage outside of daylight hours.

The first set of coordinates brings you to a yellow and black sign, with a smaller black and white sign in the same general plane, but only visible from the south.  Your next stage is at N 43 05.ABC W 070 DE.DFD.

  • A = 7 minus the 1st digit of the number on the black & white sign
  • B = # of letters on the yellow & black sign
  • C = # of words ending in T on the black & white sign
  • D = # of letters in the 2nd word on the black & white sign
  • E = 2nd digit of the number on the black & white sign
  • F = # of consonants on the yellow & black sign

If you figured things out correctly, you are now at a brown & white sign.  You need to find the last two digits of the year the sign was made, multiply that number by 3, then add 5 to it.  You subtract the result from the north coordinate (last 3 digits) of your present location. Determine the number of letters in the full name of the state where the sign was made, square it, and then add 3.  You add that result to the west coordinates (last 3 digits) of your present location.

If your math was correct, you are now at an informational kiosk.  Your next stage is at N 43 AB.CDE W 070 EF.GAC.

  • A = European colonization began in the 192As
  • B = Pease Air Force Base grew to a 436B acre Strategic Air Command Base
  • C = The Command Base was in operation from 195C-1991 as a combat ready force capable of long-range bombing operations.
  • D = Department of Defense transferred land near here to Fish & Wildlife in 19D2
  • E = # of acres transferred to Fish & Wildlife was 1,05E
  • F = # of letters in the first two words of the name of the nearby Wildlife Refuge G = # of years Pease was an Air Force Base divided by 5

If you calculated right, you are now at a green & white sign. Your next stop is at N 43 AB.CBD W 070 BA.EBF.

  • A = the morning time listed minus 6
  • B = the latest time listed divided by 2
  • C = the morning time divided by 2
  • D = the earliest time on the last line
  • E = the morning time
  • F = the latest time listed minus 2

If you can tell time correctly, you are now at a brown & white sign. You need to determine the following:

  • A = # of numbers on the front of the sign plus 2
  • B = use C from the first stage - # of letter ending in T on the black & white sign
  • C = use E from the fourth stage - the morning time
  • D = take the number of letters in the full name of the state where the sign in stage 2 was made and subtract 4
  • E = use E from the third stage - # of acres transferred to Fish & Wildlife in 1,05E
  • F = # of posts holding up the sign Subtract .ABC from your present north coordinates. Subtract .DEF from your present west coordinates. Now you can go find the magic wand.

Some advice - start with a full tank of gas and fresh batteries in your GPS and calculator. Bring plenty of snacks and drinks. Load all your unfound caches within a 2 mile radius, since you'll pass by lots of them on the various stages. And don't forget to bring a sense of humor, which confuses the Evil Queen. You'll need to BYOP unless you know a spell to create one using the magic wand.

Congrats to rjb43 for FTF.

Please note: Puzzle info has been updated on 9-26-21 after info at kiosk had been changed. Final is still in the same location, so if you have previously solved all the waypoints, you will not have to resolve.

A word of thanks to 21alpine, who was the caretaker of this wonderful multi for a few years!
