Geocache Description:

Built by U.S. Navy Seabees soon after World War II, the Glass Breakwater provided a protected harbor for the heavy traffic of American vessels that traveled to Guam as part of the U.S. buildup of forces in the Pacific. It was named after Captain Henry Glass, commanding officer of the U.S. cruiser Charleston who, during the 1898 Spanish-American War, captured Guam from the Spanish.

On the south side of the breakwater is the protected beach and harbor.  On the north side are fantastic views of the ocean's powerful waves as they crash against the reef.  This cache is located at the top of probably the best path from family beach up to the Glass Breakwater access road.  Walk directly across the road and you will see the path continues on to the rocks where there is a scenic vista of the entire breakwater area.

Happy Caching - and enjoy the views!!
