Geocache Description:

    6th July from 10am

We’d like to invite you to join us at Erddig Country Park to help celebrate us reaching 10,000 caches.   See more information on the House and Gardens here http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/erddig/.

We will be here courtesy of the National Trust who have kindly agreed to us joining them on their “I Love Erddig” Community Weekend.  There will be lots of music, games and the chance to see the Great Erddig Exhibition at the main event.

We will be located in the Tea Gardens where food will be available – menu will be added later but will include soup and sandwiches.  Please indicate if your group is likely to be eating to give us an idea of numbers.

We will be placing 3 walks around the park to compliment our existing caches in varied areas across the park with a variety of caches - trads, multis and puzzle caches.  We’ll be dishing listings of the caches out at 11.30am so people can visit as few or as many of them as they want.   We’ll be walking around some of the caches if anybody wants to join us.

There is plenty to keep muggle partners busy ranging from walks around the park to a tour of the house.

It would be helpful to the National Trust if any members could present their cards at the Ticket Booth.

Sir & Lady Harveyjj have kindly provided a lovely badge which can be added to your profile as well for attending.

Look forward to seeing you all there.  Further details will be added closer to the date so please add this listing to your watchlist to receive further details.

For anybody visiting from further afield Wrexham Travelodge is just half a mile away

We now have details of the menu available at the Restaurant on the day: Items include Welsh Lamb Casserole - £7.50, Pork & Leek Sausage - £7.35, Vegetable Casserole - £7.00, Soup of the Day with fresh bread - £4.10, along with a selection of hot and cold drinks and deserts. Food is also available at the tea garden and tea room including drinks, sandwiches, cakes and pasties.

We have also been given access to the Timber Yard for the event which is located next to the Tea Garden. You will need a pass from us to gain access to this area so remember to find John or I to grab one of these from us.

For any non-caching partners, the National Trust are able to offer a group discount rate for 10 or more people wanting to enter the house and gardens (must be at the same time) - £5.40 per adult. It is of course free for any National Trust members.

This will be a fairly informal event to give everyone a chance to have a natter, swap tbs, grab a bite to eat etc before setting off for a walk around one of the new circuits. The walk is about 2 hours long but there is an option to shorten the route for those with children if desired. We will have a couple of activities with us and will also bring the laptop to load up gps for the new caches being published (for as long as the battery lasts)

We will be bringing a collection with us in support of Chris, Khoomfays and Peteb303s recent 3 peaks challenge (kindly chauffeured by Zeus55) if anybody would like to donate any pennies towards their chosen charities - Nightingale House and the Shooting Star Unit.

Hope to see you all there.
