6/7/13 - Bumped the difficulty up from 1 to 2.5 because we have a feeling it's a little more difficult than we had planned
Side note: Parking might be tricky to find for this cache, unless you're comfortable with parkin on the side of Route 2. Nearby parking can be found at a water service station, and is about 20 feet past the "do not enter" road sign. The easiest method of access is to drive up the hill via Route 2, take your first right, and then another right by the nearby school to enter the road parking is found on.
This is the third cache that we've placed in our mini-series, "Overview of the River." At first, we planned on placing one and only one cache entitled, "Overview of the River," but quickly decided that a local series for the Kennebec River and the dam in Skowhegan, ME was in order. This cache of the mini-series is a view of the dam down below and from a distance.
This one is located in a small picnic area across the street from the side of the road that hosts the river.
Be careful of mugglers as this is always a busy area. Route 2 ushers a lot of traffic at almost all times of day, so be stealthy for this find. Also keep in mind that because of how busy the road is, caution should be taken to cross the road and view the river.
