Enter from The Bennington Rescue Squad's Parking lot off McKinley Street.
This cache was placed with the permission from the administration of Bennington Rescue Squad.
Short term Parking is allowed in the parking area for visitors and Geocachers searching for the cache.
The cache is a regular sized container with a log book and a pen (but BYOP in case it stops working) and room for trade items.
This is my first cache hide and I chose the grounds of Bennington Rescue Squad because of 1 my familiarity with the place and 2 this is BRS's 50th year of operation serving the community.
I used to dabble in geocaching a number of years ago but have recently reignited a love for it. I feel strongly towards the CITO effort and anything that can better our communities.
I hope you all enjoy this cache and if you happen to see any of the crews out and about give them a wave. (most are aware of the cache)
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a medical condition when the heart is not beating. Annually nearly 300,000 individuals collapse from sudden cardiac arrest. With effective bystander Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest, can double; even triple a victim’s chance of survival. Unfortunately, less than 30 percent of cardiac arrest victims receive CPR from a bystander. With over 80 percent of SCA occurring at home, you have the chance to give your loved ones the chance of survival.
The PUSH FOR LIFE campaign is Bennington Rescue Squad first step towards creating Vermont’s first HEARTsafe Community. The community of Bennington and the surrounding towns are asked to join in making our area a safer place to live, work and play.
How can you help? If you are not already trained in CPR, taking a CPR class would be the best way to help your community.
