I understand that Longshore drift consists of the transportation of sediments (clay, silt, sand and shingle) along a coast at an angle to the shoreline, which is dependent on prevailing wind direction, swash and backwash ......
.... which probably means this is why this cache is here and not in the sea as some maps may suggest - now this large area of beach is popular with Kitesurfers
These lovely rockpools shown in listing are near the cache and the line of poles shows the original position of the seashore.
Hope you enjoy this interesting part of Old Felixstowe and there are many more caches to find along this part of the coast.
