Geocache Description:

Geocaching continues in 2013 in Geauga Park District with lake caches which will introduce you to different bodies of water where fishing and boating are enjoyed. The third cache of 2013 is a regular cache located at Best Preserve in Chardon.

This is a 4 part multi.

Best Sand Corporation's founder Walter C. Best built this 30 acre lake because of his interest in waterfowl. After his death, his wife, Edna May, donated the lake and surrounding land to Geauga Park District. The Preserve was dedicated in 1988.

The park has walking paths, a waterfowl observation blind, and fishing platforms.  Wheelchair cachers can handle the trail but will need a caching partner. Catch and Release is encouraged.

Park in the lot at the front  entrance to the park on Route 44 and take the paved trail west towards the lake.
