Back of Foy Traditional Cache

This cache is one of a series of caches which brings the finder on a stiff hike around and across Slieve Foy. The length of the circular walk affords the finder breathtaking views of the full expanse of Carlingford, the Lough, the Mournes and the rest of the Cooleys and of Dundalk Bay
Slieve Foy, which towers over the medieval village of Carlingford, is the highest point in the Cooley Mountains and indeed in County Louth.
At this point it's all about Carlingford Lough, from this vantage you can appreciate the full expanse of the lough from the mouth of the Lough and the port of Greenore to the east all the way to the town of Newry to the west. Remember to check out the nearby pond before moving on.
The cache is a small tablock box with log only so byop. Please replace the cache exactly as found to protect it from the elements.
As with all caches placed in mountainous areas, always come properly prepared for your day in the hills with proper clothes, boots, map, compass food, etc
Please note also that dogs are not allowed anywhere on the Cooley Mountains (even on leads)
