Geocache Description:

This cache is one of a series of caches which brings the finder on a stiff hike around and across Slieve Foy. The length of the circular walk affords the finder breathtaking views of the full expanse of Carlingford, the Lough, the Mournes and the rest of the Cooleys and of Dundalk Bay

Slieve Foy, which towers over the medieval village of Carlingford, is the highest point in the Cooley Mountains and indeed in County Louth.

This cache is on the saddle separating Slieve Foy from the Barnevave. The cache name came from the fact that the sun was indeed "blazing" the day I placed the cache. The views of the village of Carlingford and the mouth of the lough are super from this vantage point.

The cache is a small tablock box with log only so byop. Please replace the cache and it's cover exactly as found to protect it from the elements and indeed from muggles as this part of the mountain is very popular with walkers.

As with all caches placed in mountainous areas, always come properly prepared for your day in the hills with proper clothes, boots, map, compass food, etc

Please note also that dogs are not allowed anywhere on the Cooley Mountains (even on leads)
