Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation-Just beCAUSE-WAY Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

onecrazycanadian: Hi,

This cache has been missing or in need of maintenance for an extended period of time. Due to the lack of response toward the needed maintenance since my last contact, I am archiving the cache. If you do happen to complete the maintenance required and wish to activate the cache again just let me know and I will consider unarchiving it once the issue is resolved.

Thanks!

Geocache Description:

Here is your chance to walk-the-line down the causeway along Buffalo Pound Lake's west side.
Keep your eyes open for nesting geese and other waterfowl.
The cache is about the same size as a goose egg.

Buffalo Pound Lake was created with the construction of a dam on the Qu’Appelle River by Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration in 1940. The original purpose was to serve as a water supply for stock watering and to develop irrigation and flood control. The reservoir is approximately 30 km long and 0.6 km wide. In 1955, Regina and Moose Jaw began to use the reservoir as a source for water. Water is now diverted from Diefenbaker Lake down the Qu’Appelle River to Buffalo Pound Lake.

In the past, the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation has utilized Buffalo Pound Lake for numerous fisheries related projects such as: spawn camp and fish tracking studies.
