Fast Horse to Hell Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BLMBilbo: Yup, muggled (again). It seems like this is a perfect location for a cache, but it has a history of getting muggled and a lot of maintenance problems. It could still have a cache here but whatever the next one is, will need to be carefully thought about. Still a fun title.

Geocache Description:

To protect yourself, before handling the cache container, make sure you disinfect it, then all contents you handle plus anything you leave. Please no "Found," or "TFTC" or a smiley face or some other emoticon - just that you in fact disinfected all, and maybe add something more about the cache, or area, or your travels.

Placed for the Fourth Annual Billy the Kid GeoFest, hosted by the No Scum Allowed Saloon in White Oaks, New Mexico. The Saloon alone made it worth the trip and the effort. A gem of American Wild West nostalgia. Several caches around White Oaks make it worth the nine-mile side trip off Highway 54, and if you don't at least peek into the Saloon, silly you.

Every once in a while there's gotta be an easy one. Some degree of stealth advised, as folks in the nearby sales office might see any visitors as prospects. Shouldn't be a hard find, don't give up until you've looked everywhere under the sun. Bet this looked a whole lot different in Billy's day. UPDATE, May 2014: Never understood why the event sponsors assigned this particular name, but today I was browsing at a flea market and saw a biography of Billy the Kid entitled "To Hell on a Fast Horse." So now ya know .... UPDATE Nov 2016: over time it has become apparent that during late summer and fall, the plantings at GZ and/or the accumulation of tumbleweeds can make this one a bit hard to get at, so I'm bumping the difficulty to a 3. During winter and early spring, however, it shouldn't be all that difficult.
