Geocache Description:

A tribute to our local rockstar astronaut.  Welcome home Commander Hadfield!

This cache was created as a celebration of the safe return of Col. Chris Hadfield. He was born in Sarnia and the airport located nearby was renamed to honour him. Col. Hadfield was the first Canadian to be named Commander of the International Space Station, serving as Commander on Expedition 35 lasting from Dec 2012- May 2013. Col. Hadfield, with the help of his son Evan, mastered the use of social media during his mission making space the coolest thing on the planet again!! Welcome back Col. Hadfield!
