This cache is part of our "song" series along the 212 corridor to provide caches to the locals and those on their way between the Twin Cities and SD. It is also being placed in Bird Island for the purpose of teaching Geocaching at the grade schools upon request of the BOLD 6th grade teachers! Bring on the next generation!!
This song has MANY variations, but the favorite I have is of Harry Caray "Voice of the fams" who sung this publicly at every game he announced! Do take the time to pull it up on iTunes and enjoy a bit of nostalgia!
Take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, I don't care if I ever get back! Let's root, root, root for the home team! If they don't win it's a shame, but it's one-two-three strikes you're out, at the old ball game!
This is located on the south side of the HUGE baseball complex in Bird Island, MN. There is a B league semi-pro team there and the north fields are one of the pride and joys of the town. There must be at least a dozen fields there, and plenty of parking. This one may require a bit of a stroll depending on how well you do finding a parking place. Obviously, there will be times that there are games going on and you will need to use great care in retrieving the cache, but this was placed on the least busy part of the ball park area , actually just outside it, in order to keep it safe and available most of the time.
You are looking for a camo peanut butter jar. There are a few trinkets and a FTF wooden coin for the starter inventory. Please be careful to place this back EXACTLY as you find it to ensure it's protection from the weather and not being seen by muggles. Thank you.
