Prva električna žarnica
Prva električna žarnica je na Slovenskem zasvetila 4. aprila 1883 v Mariboru. Komaj štiri leta po znamenitem izumu prve žarnice na ogljeno nitko T. A. Edisona (1879) je tedaj mariborsko podjetje Karl Scherbaum v svojem parnem mlinu vpeljalo električno razsvetljavo s 36 žarnicami. Po nepopolnih podatkih naj bi jih napajal enosmerni dinamo stroj na parni pogon, njegova moč pa je bila okrog 5 kW.
First Electric Light
The first electric lamp in Slovenia was lit on 4th April 1883 in Maribor [4]. Only four years after the famous discovery of the first lightbulb with carbon filament by T. A. Edison (1879), the Karl Scherbaum company from Maribor introduced electric lighting with 36 lightbulbs in its steam mill. According to incomplete data, these lightbulbs were supplied by a steam-driven, direct-current dynamo with a power of approx. 5 kW.
