The Canadian Shield is Canada’s biggest land form region. It almost covers all of the province of Quebec. The Canadian Shield covers the provinces of Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba, and extends into the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

The Canadian Shield is made out of rock (mostly igneous), trees and fresh water lakes. The Canadian Shield is also called Laurentian Plateau, and in French it is known as Bouclier Canadien.

Hudson the polar bear travelled through the Canadian Shield from Toronto, Ontario to Winnipeg, Manitoba which is his new home.  Most trees in the Canadian Shield are pine trees. The Canadian Shield is more than 3.96 billion years old.
