Geocache Description:

An easy urban cache celebrating the current creative use of iconic buildings, and remembering rich local history. There are plenty of old churches which have been converted for the modern, technological age. However, here an obsolete TV aerial complex accomodates a new contemporary church.

There's treasure beside this building presently used as the place and project of the Tyneside Vineyard church. The area is beneath the broadcast aerial of the former Tyne-Tees television studios, famous for programs such as “The Tube” by Jools Holland. The buildings used by the church now send out a different signal: “belong, believe, become...” is on a banner nearby. They run a cafe for homeless people, a food and clothing bank. This ministry is called “storehouse,” and echos the early 1800’s where massive grain warehouses earned this section of the city the name “little Egypt.” The adjacent eponymous Egypt Cottage pub has now been knocked down.
From the bible Matthew chapter 7, verses 13-14 are appropriate.
On street parking opposite is pay-and-display but better to have a nice walk up from the quayside.
There's a selection of everything-for-a-pound-type items and will try to maintain the quality of contents to avoid disappointment for children's sake.
