Geocache Description:

The Cache is in the Assiniboine Park Zoo, in Winnipeg. There is an entrance fee. Placing trackables is not recommended in this high muggle area. Zoo hours change with the seasons. Summer hours: Open daily from 9:00 a.m. and gates close at 4:30 p.m.

The prairies are in central and western Canada. They cover these three provinces: Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. There are two other names for the prairies. They are also called “grasslands” or the “interior plains.” The population of the Canadian prairies is almost 6 million people. The people who have lived in the area the longest are the First Nations people.  The prairies are most important for the rich black soil for planting crops. There are lots of grain crops on the prairies like canola, wheat and soy plants.

Please treat our animals and plants with respect. Do not approach or feed animals, pick or damage plants, knock on glass, or throw coins in ponds. Please stay on pathways and respect safety fences. The difficulty rating on this is due to the very high muggle factor. It will be difficult to retrieve the cache without being seen...Congratulations to Jean Deniche on the FTF!
