Geocache Description:

In the township of Duvauchelle. Children must be supervised as the road is busy. Enjoy the picknick area nearby.

The name of the town and bay comes from the surname of two brothers, who held land in the area at the time of the French settlement at Akaroa in the 1840s.

The historic post office was badly damaged in the september 10th earthquake.

This is a scenic location near Akaroa and a good place to stop for a while.

The cache is a jar (500mL approx) hidden at the end of a pedestrian walkway.
Be careful if the road is busy. Take care in winter after heavy rain as puddles may form under the walkway in places.
Beware of muggles.

When hidden the cache contained
1x Pen
1x Log book
1x Small red bike light
1x Yellow park brake push/pull button out of a truck
